Friday Nights by Caro
Friday night is about going out. Ethan tells him that whenever Clark tries to stay in. If there isn't a gig lined up, there's a club they need to check out, or a bar that he's dragging Clark to because the clientele is hot. To Ethan, Friday night is about unlimited possibilities.
Lex doesn't interfere with Friday night.
It doesn't matter to Ethan that the moment Clark's classes end on Friday, he's over at Lex's apartment, and he's there for the whole weekend. He still expects Clark to come out with him. Entertain him.
It never occurs to Ethan that Clark could have other ideas on how to spend the night.
Lex tells Clark to go out. More often than not, he allows himself to be dragged out, and they spend Friday night curled up in some corner of a college bar that Lex was too cool to frequent even when he was at Met U, while Ethan works the room.
Lex tells Clark that he's only in college once and that he shouldn't limit his experiences. Lex wants to say that Clark should be free, and feels guilty about trapping Clark in such a committed relationship when he's this young, and could be going through the entirety of Met U. student body the way Ethan does. But Lex is also possessive and would never say that, and that makes Clark happy.
So does coming back to Lex's place and falling asleep with Lex's arms wrapped around him.
Friday nights are about that, too.
